TUSKO 3 Ton Class

3 Ton Mini Excavator

A 3 ton mini excavator is the natural step up for contractors whose work has grown beyond occasional footings and trenches. With roughly twice the hydraulic capacity of a 1.8 ton machine, it cuts cycle times on bulk excavation and lifts pipe and concrete elements that smaller machines cannot handle safely, while still being transportable on a plant trailer.

What Counts as a 3 Ton Mini Excavator

In practice the 3 ton class covers machines from about 2.5 to 3.6 tonnes. The distinction matters because some suppliers market a 2.6 tonne machine as a 3 ton excavator, and the difference in stability, bucket size and lifting capacity between 2.5 and 3.6 tonnes is significant on site.

TUSKO builds three models in this band. The TK25 and TK26 are compact 2.5 and 2.6 tonne machines on an extendable undercarriage, ideal where the machine still has to be trailered and moved regularly. The TK36 is a true 3.6 tonne excavator with a 0.11 cubic metre bucket, designed for contractors who want production rather than portability at the top of the mini class.

The practical difference

Moving from the TK26 to the TK36 nearly doubles bucket capacity and adds 400 mm of digging depth, which typically halves the number of cycles on bulk work of any real size. If your contracts involve basement excavation, large trenches or loading trucks, the TK36 is the machine that changes how quickly the job finishes.

Typical Jobs for a 3 Ton Excavator

These machines are bought by general contractors, municipal crews, road contractors and larger farms. Common duties include:

Attachments and Hydraulic Options for 3 Ton Machines

This is the size at which attachments stop being accessories and start being the reason you chose the machine. A hydraulic breaker turns it into a demolition and rock-breaking tool; a quick coupler lets the operator change between a 300 mm trenching bucket, a wide cleaning bucket and a grapple in under a minute without leaving the seat.

We recommend ordering auxiliary hydraulic lines at the factory stage, even if you do not buy the attachment immediately. Adding a properly sized circuit later is possible but rarely as clean as having it built in, and a machine with factory-fitted auxiliary hydraulics is easier to resell.

Buying a 3 Ton Excavator from China

Every machine in this class is built to order, so the configuration you choose shapes both the build and the delivered cost: cab or canopy, track type, bucket set, hydraulic circuits and attachments all matter, as does the destination port. Lead time is normally 20 to 30 days for a standard build, and 35 to 45 days for custom paint, cab variants or unusual attachment packages. We ship FOB Qingdao or Tianjin, or CIF to your port, and every machine leaves with a full document set including certificate of origin and conformity certificates.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 3 ton mini excavator weigh?

Machines in this class range from about 2,500 kg for the TK25 through 2,600 kg for the TK26 to 3,600 kg for the TK36. The weight you choose determines what trailer you need and how much stability and lifting capacity the machine has on site.

What is the digging depth of a 3 ton excavator?

Digging depth ranges from 2,700 mm on the TK25, through 2,800 mm on the TK26, to 3,200 mm on the TK36. Maximum digging radius reaches 5,500 mm on the TK36, which is enough to load trucks without repositioning.

Can a 3 ton excavator run a hydraulic hammer?

Yes. This class is very commonly used with a breaker for concrete, asphalt and light rock. Order the machine with a correctly sized auxiliary hydraulic circuit and a breaker matched to its flow and pressure, and we confirm compatibility at the factory.

What is the difference between the TK26 and the TK36?

Both are mid-size machines but they serve different priorities. The TK26 is a compact 2.6 tonne machine on an extendable undercarriage, easy to trailer and ideal for mixed contracting. The TK36 is a 3.6 tonne production machine with nearly double the bucket capacity and much greater output on bulk excavation.

Do these machines come with air conditioning?

The TK36 is available with an enclosed, air-conditioned cab as standard or optional depending on configuration, and the TK25 and TK26 can also be supplied with a cab. Canopy versions are available for buyers in mild climates who prefer a lower purchase price and transport height.

What is the lead time and shipping method?

Standard builds leave the factory in 20 to 30 days, with 35 to 45 days for customised orders. Shipping is FOB Qingdao or Tianjin, or CIF to your port. We confirm the most economical method - container or break-bulk - once we know your exact configuration and destination.
